I think that credibilitly of sources on the internet is so important for clinicians. How can we support research and information that isn't credible. Clinicians should use credible information and th internet has many different domains to use the such government, educational, and non-profit organizations (Saba & McCormick (2006).
I'm amazed with the material that is on pubmed/medline. I do believe that the nurse or professonal need to keep up-to-date with what's available on the internet and the resources that will enable the provider to find the information needed, because it's changes so quickly.
I think that I'm going to invest in a PDA, would anyone like to tell me what's good and reasonable on the market?

Module 3
I used pubmed along with endnote and it worked great. I was able to import my references and citations. The more I use this program the more I like it.
I also used the clearing house search and it seemed to be a little bit harder on recruitment and retention. It's more like a research tool for disease and illnesses. But it was interesting, I put in the word Croup and I searched some articles. It was interesting to find out that Tamiflu in influenza has caused some delirium in patients. I haven't heard of that before. But the research showed there was enough studies to recommend the publishing. We have seen alot of influenza this winter that isn't A or B. We notified our infection contol nurse to follow up with public health and the CDC because we have seen so much.
I also like to use the CINDAL websites, but a subscription is needed. What websites do you feel would be worth the money? Because students don't have alot of that, my hours have decreased since starting school.

Module 3
2. I used the Endnote program. I thought it was easy to access my material and reference and I learned alot about importing my references. The tutorial that Endnote has in the library was excellent and it made everything seem to make sense this time. Sometimes, I have little patience and get frustrated easily. But once I got use to accessing my material and references it made my researching so much easier. Endnote retrieves the references then alphabetizes them. I didn't know research could be so fun with a program.

Module 3
1. I searched under Nursing retention and recruitment. I live in a small commmunity where primary care providers are hard to come by. The hosital is about 50 miles away and in the winter time it is hard to reach for community members.
I used the pubmed resource and imported my references and citations to endnote. I was amazed how quickly my references was accesible. When I was doing my endnote assignment, I had a hard time, but this time it seemed so much easier.
Using these programs in my daily practice now would be quite hard because our institution blocks alot of access. But I could see how it would be practical in my practice as a Nursepractioner.
